2.1 The Godhead
The Bible reveals that there is one God, Jehovah (JHVH; Hebrew YHVH), who created all things and sustains all things, to whom all people are accountable. God exists as both one God and in three distinct and utterly harmonious Persons: God the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, who are all fully God. This is a sublime concept of profound spiritual truth that is beyond full human comprehension, yet is the revealed truth of God himself.
All three Persons are individually, co-equally and completely God. God is eternal, infinite, all knowing, all present, all wise, all-powerful, and unchanging. God is utterly holy and has no sin. Some of the other characteristics of God are mercy, love, grace, hatred of sin, patience, compassion, goodness, righteousness, and generosity. We embrace the traditional doctrine of the Trinity of God, who is one God.
