1.1 The Bible
Very succinctly, we at Bible Truth For You subscribe to the traditional, Bible-believing truths as typically maintained by old-style evangelicals and fundamentalists, and reject as untrue man-made traditions and liberal doctrines that are clearly unbiblical. We embrace faithfulness to God, Jesus Christ, the Bible, and the application of selfless love, mercy, charity and forgiveness, and hold an earnest desire that God should be honored and his Gospel should be spread far and wide.

The Christian Bible, consisting of the 66 book divisions that make up the traditional Scriptures, is the complete, divinely preserved, verbally and fully inspired words of God, as recorded in the Hebrew ben-Chayyim Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Greek Received Text of the New Testament. God caused his exact words to be written down by the Bible writers without error, and God has perfectly preserved every one of his words through all of history.
The Bible is our sole authority in all things spiritual, or for instruction in all matters commanded by God, in faith or in practice. No human teaching is accepted as authoritative. The King James Version of the Bible is an excellent example of a Formal Equivalence English translation of the preserved Masoretic and Received Texts, and is the most accurate and reliable English version presently available.
We reject the Bible versions based upon the corrupted sources of the Critical Text and the Dynamic Equivalence method of paraphrasing, which are the underpinnings of nearly all English versions produced from the mid 19th century to the present, including (but not limited to) the New American Standard Version, the New International Version, the New King James Version, the Living Bible and The Message. We believe that the KJV is not directly inspired by God as were the original texts and is not superior revelation to the source Hebrew and Greek texts, but we do believe that God has caused men to produce this accurate, reliable and faithful translation into English for the benefit and blessing of his people in the current age.

‘From a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works’ – 2 Timothy 3:15-17.
‘We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost’ – 2 Peter 1:19-21.
‘I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book’ – Revelation 22:18-19.
